About Sid Higginbotham Builders
Sid Higginbotham is an American success story. In 1957, while installing cabinets for the Sears & Roebuck Company, Sid completed his very first home, for his first customer, his mother. 50 years later, hundreds of custom homes and countless awards, Sid Higginbotham is respected as one of the best builders in Northeast Florida.
There are few builders that have the reputation for honesty, integrity and quality construction that Sid Higginbotham enjoys. Richard Dostie, long time Northeast Florida builder said of Sid, "he is an old school builder, his word is his bond."
Sid's building experience began as a cabinetmaker, a career that has no substitution for craftsmanship. Walk through one of Sid's homes and observe the straight and plumb walls, tightly mitered corners and satin smooth finish on molding. These did not come by chance but are rooted in his earlier profession that demanded the highest level of workmanship and attention to every detail.
Sid Higginbotham has a philosophy that is simple and direct. "I'm proud of the homes we build, and I want my homebuyers to be proud to have a home that I built." Sid has been heard to tell a subcontractor, "If you can't do it right, maybe you should find a new career."
Roger Higginbotham is the president of the company. Roger began working in the family business at age fourteen. His summer vacations were spent cleaning job sites and doing any job asked of him. He worked side by side with his dad then and this has continued to this day.
Roger earned an Associate of Science degree in Construction Technology from Florida Community College of Jacksonville. He has been a Certified Building Contractor licensed by the State of Florida since 1983. Like his father, Roger is also highly respected in the construction industry. Roger Higginbotham has twice served as Chairman of the Clay County Builders Council.
