The Laurel Award

The Higginbotham organization is proud to have received the Laurel Award for Best Web Site for a Local Builder.
We won the same award in 2001. It was a good site, but as time passed were just added pages without rebuilding the framework. It became cumbersome and disjointed, causing visitors to the site difficulty in maneuvering.
We had several goals in mind for the new site. Of course we wanted it to be informative, easy to get to information, and easy to return to any other page, no matter where the viewer was on the site. There was one additional goal. I wanted visitors to get a feeling for the people that are a part of the organization, what they are like, the values they hold, to get a sense of how serious they are about integrity and craftsmanship, which starts, of course, with Sid himself. The Home, About Us, and How We Build pages do a good job of that.
The mechanics of getting the site built and on-line was accomplished by Discover Tec. They are the same folks who helped me in 2001. They are truly talented, and very attentive to what we wanted the site to accomplish.
Especially pleasing in getting our new site on line is that the effort was a collaborative one involving Roger Higginbotham, Pres., Bill Garrison, Operations Manager, AC Fairbrother, Sales Agent, and me, Bill Sekeres. It was a true effort of folks working together to get the job done with pride, just like building a home.
